Easter, DT Cards and more...

Well, Easter is finally here in my corner of the world. I've been a bit preoccupied with shopping and preparations for a few days over the week. I didn't cook a lot but we did have more than on a regular lunch.
As in every year, I enjoyed the atmosphere on the streets when coming home from church last night - everybody was carrying candles and on some small and dark streets those were the only light you can see. Awesome how it wasn't creepy at all [not seeing anything but tiny flickering flames], on the contrary, it made you feel happy and safe. :)

Now I'm half asleep because I've had too much to eat and the weather outside is very warm but not too sunny - perfect for a nap. :D
But I thought I'd better catch up on this week's "jobs" and show you the cards I made for our challenge blog - Just Christmas and Birthday Cards - and for the new Bunny Kit We're showing on Stamping with Jany.

And I'll also show a few more cards made just because. :)

Week #27 at Just Christmas and Birthday Cards

This week's sketch was made by our talented Janina and it's a great sketch for any sort of cards and, I think, even for a scrapbook layout.

Here's the sketch:

and my Christmas card...

I have to admit I'm not very happy with how my Christmas tree looks
but I've been meaning to try this model for a long time.
I stamped the tree with a Basic Grey stamp and heat embossed
with white powder. I then added brad-baubles and ornate it
with glitter glue. I also put some extra glitter
glue on the outside of the tree to make it look like decorations. :)
DP is from Papermania and the gifts in the corners are die-cuts.

Stamping with Jany

For this Friday the DT members worked for the second time with the lovely Bunny Kit (TAC products).

If you're interested, the content of the kit is: For my card I used one of Jany's sketches in that .PDF file.

I really enjoy working with this kit and it always makes me
feel playful and child-like.
Although the DPs have an elegant and vintage look,
the stamped images are very sweet and I
can't help myself from colouring them like a 3 years old.
Quite a contrast between the papers and the clumsy bunny, isn't it? :-D

Please go have a look at the other cards on Jany's blog. My dear, talented co-workers - Jill, Diana and Jany, of course - have produced some extraordinary creations.

Other cards I've made and never shown before....

My dear Chris advised me in a comment to show the card I made with a digi stamps kit designed by Fred, She Said - a.k.a. my friend Tracey from Canada [I keep wondering what they feed them in Canada? Or maybe there's something in the water... *wink, wink* LOL]

I had such great great fun working with Tracey's images and kept smiling while working because her mermaid is based on her adorable daughter Emma. Tracey's son, Nolan, is a talented artist too and have designed two very sweet digi-monsters - you'll see one of them next week, on a card I'm currently working at. :)

Well... here's my 'acquatic' card:

The swirly blue background paper is also created by Tracey and if I remember correctly you can find it as a free download on her blog. :) The "water" is made from acetate which I punched to make the waves and then glittered it a bit. The bottom is a piece of cuttlebugged yellow cardstock coloured with watercolour pencils like all the rest. Some elements are under the 'water' and some are above. And I've added some bubbles too :D

==================================

The next one is a card I've made more than a month ago and it was 'tailor-made' for a very dear and good friend. He just received it two days ago (it travelled a lot but at least it finally made it to USA). I was very pleased to hear that he liked it a lot - I've used stuff, colours and a "theme" that I thought would suit his tastes. And I am also pleased with how the card came out. :)

The stamped image is heat embossed with clear ep and chalked with a few coordinating colours. It really looks nice, believe me :)

Thank you for bearing with me through this long and convoluted post.
