Easter, DT Cards and more...

Well, Easter is finally here in my corner of the world. I've been a bit preoccupied with shopping and preparations for a few days over the week. I didn't cook a lot but we did have more than on a regular lunch.
As in every year, I enjoyed the atmosphere on the streets when coming home from church last night - everybody was carrying candles and on some small and dark streets those were the only light you can see. Awesome how it wasn't creepy at all [not seeing anything but tiny flickering flames], on the contrary, it made you feel happy and safe. :)

Now I'm half asleep because I've had too much to eat and the weather outside is very warm but not too sunny - perfect for a nap. :D
But I thought I'd better catch up on this week's "jobs" and show you the cards I made for our challenge blog - Just Christmas and Birthday Cards - and for the new Bunny Kit We're showing on Stamping with Jany.

And I'll also show a few more cards made just because. :)

Week #27 at Just Christmas and Birthday Cards

This week's sketch was made by our talented Janina and it's a great sketch for any sort of cards and, I think, even for a scrapbook layout.

Here's the sketch:

and my Christmas card...

I have to admit I'm not very happy with how my Christmas tree looks
but I've been meaning to try this model for a long time.
I stamped the tree with a Basic Grey stamp and heat embossed
with white powder. I then added brad-baubles and ornate it
with glitter glue. I also put some extra glitter
glue on the outside of the tree to make it look like decorations. :)
DP is from Papermania and the gifts in the corners are die-cuts.

Stamping with Jany

For this Friday the DT members worked for the second time with the lovely Bunny Kit (TAC products).

If you're interested, the content of the kit is: For my card I used one of Jany's sketches in that .PDF file.

I really enjoy working with this kit and it always makes me
feel playful and child-like.
Although the DPs have an elegant and vintage look,
the stamped images are very sweet and I
can't help myself from colouring them like a 3 years old.
Quite a contrast between the papers and the clumsy bunny, isn't it? :-D

Please go have a look at the other cards on Jany's blog. My dear, talented co-workers - Jill, Diana and Jany, of course - have produced some extraordinary creations.

Other cards I've made and never shown before....

My dear Chris advised me in a comment to show the card I made with a digi stamps kit designed by Fred, She Said - a.k.a. my friend Tracey from Canada [I keep wondering what they feed them in Canada? Or maybe there's something in the water... *wink, wink* LOL]

I had such great great fun working with Tracey's images and kept smiling while working because her mermaid is based on her adorable daughter Emma. Tracey's son, Nolan, is a talented artist too and have designed two very sweet digi-monsters - you'll see one of them next week, on a card I'm currently working at. :)

Well... here's my 'acquatic' card:

The swirly blue background paper is also created by Tracey and if I remember correctly you can find it as a free download on her blog. :) The "water" is made from acetate which I punched to make the waves and then glittered it a bit. The bottom is a piece of cuttlebugged yellow cardstock coloured with watercolour pencils like all the rest. Some elements are under the 'water' and some are above. And I've added some bubbles too :D

==================================

The next one is a card I've made more than a month ago and it was 'tailor-made' for a very dear and good friend. He just received it two days ago (it travelled a lot but at least it finally made it to USA). I was very pleased to hear that he liked it a lot - I've used stuff, colours and a "theme" that I thought would suit his tastes. And I am also pleased with how the card came out. :)

The stamped image is heat embossed with clear ep and chalked with a few coordinating colours. It really looks nice, believe me :)

Thank you for bearing with me through this long and convoluted post.

JCBC Week #26 --- Sketch by yours truly :)

Hello dear ones. I have to start by saying a big, big "Thank You!" to all of you who left comments on my previous post. I was really amazed to see so many and containing such wonderful words. You all ROCK! :D

For today I'm going to show the two cards I made with my sketch, for Week #26 at our lovely challenge blog - Just Christmas and Birthday Cards.
It will be a very quick and short post as there's nothing much to explain about the cards. They are simple and quite plain. :) I thought the sketch was "complex" enough so I didn't use too much extras, apart from the required papers/layers and image.

Off we go...

My Christmas card

I loved the colour of this Core'dinations cardstock and thought I'd let it shine by itself. The small DP square is from Dove craft, stampprint - Magnolia, sentiment stamp - See D's. The corners are stamped with small holy leaves [See D's also] on which I added tiny holy leaves punched from green pearlescent cardstock. A square of glitter-y cardstock and some glitter glue on the boy's wings and around the lamp. :)

My Birthday card

Last week I've received these awesome Basic Grey - "Marrakech" papers from my sweet friend Chris and I just HAD to use them a.s.a.p. :D Thank you Chris!
The white paper with small flowers is from Basic Grey's "Boxer" collection (from stash).
Stamp is from the Critter Party set by Penny Black.
Sentiment stamp from Imaginisce.

Thank you for passing by and for being my daily support. :)

Dare U 2 Digi Stamp - Challenge #1

A new challenge blog was recently born and its first challenge was posted this Friday. May they have many many challenges for us in the weeks, months and years to come. Their Design Team is filled to the brim with talented and creative crafters - believe me, I've checked each and everyone's blog and was enchanted with their creations.
One of the co-founders and DT members is my very talented friend Chris [ do yourself a favour and go see her digi stamps, I'm sure you'll find something in there for your taste. :D ]

The challenges on Dare U 2 Digi Stamp require the participants to use (duh!) digi stamps on their cards and also digi papers but this one is not compulsory.

For this Friday's challenge - #1 - the sketch was made by Chris and it looks like this...

The digi stamp I've used on my card comes from Chris too (I love the girl and she's one of my crafting heroes).

DPs are from Basic Grey - the Boxer collection
Sentiment stamp: Whiff of Joy

I've used this digi stamp before, coloured approx. the same and also using the same background paper. I liked the combination :D ---> if you're curious, you can see my other card somewhere in this post.

I printed the image two times, coloured with watercolours and cut out a few petals which I layered with foam dots. I never know how to take a photo that would make the small layered pieces to be obvious. :)

It was fun working on this card and I am looking forward to more Dare U 2 Digi Stamp challenges. I think digi stamps are very 'trendy' and possibly the stamps of the future.

** Speaking of digi stamps... have you seen Mel's easter bunnies? They're so cute, cute, cute and for FREE ;) **

Thank you for looking.

Jany's Kit Show for March - Week #4

This is the last card I made with the lovely papers and stampprints from Jany's Kit and using another sketch of hers - which I sort of disrespected :D

Here's the sketch:

And my card...

This kit was adorable, I loved the little skunks and the bright papers. I am so looking forward to receiving the new kit (for April) and working with it.
Thank you Jany for giving me the opportunity to experiment with TAC (The Angel Company) products.

You might want to check out the cards the other girls - Linda and Jill - made using the same "Mimi" kit.

Thanks for passing by :)
