JCBC #22 --- Stamping with Jany... again :) and a few other cards

It's been a whole month since I've been around Blog-ville and I really missed it. Unfortunately, my working place asked for every inch of me during this last month and I was so burned out when I got home late in the evening that I couldn't concentrate on anything.

I did manage to make a few cards while I was 'away' but didn't get around to posting them. They were mostly birthday cards I needed for co-workers and friends and some of them are gone (given) without being scanned or photographed. I had to work on them late at night and have them ready for first thing next morning.

Anyway...

I am trying to catch up a bit and see if I remember how to post :D

The week that is just ending has been the 22nd at Just Christmas and Birthday Cards - I can't believe it's been so long since it's started!

Sketch #22 is a creation of Linda's and is a lovely sketch which provided much fun in working with it - Thank you, Linda! :)

My Birthday card...

I've used my very first Penny Black stamps - Critter Party.
I LOVE them!
They are all so adorable, I wish I was more talented to honour and show them off better.
Cardstock and papers are from Dovecraft and the sentiment stamp is from Imaginisce.

My Christmas card...

For this one I've rotated the sketch.
The image (Christmas baubles) is a digi-stamp from the very talented Chris Dark.
[You might want to check out her new digi-store, she's adding new stamps all the time and the designs are absolutely awesome - love her landscapes/backgrounds and will acquire them soon]
The cardstock and paper are from Papermania and the rest are bits and pieces from my big stash provided my my great friend Sue.

Stamping with Jany continues to be a fun-filled adventure. :) She has just sent us her second TAC kit (which is available for purchase) and I fell in love with the little skunks. The papers are also very very nice, in green and pink - so bright and happy looking.

The entire kit includes:
  • 6X6 mimi paper collection pieces (1 of each pattern totaling 5)
  • 6X6 mimi cardstock pieces (1 of each color totaling 5)
  • 4 pieces sized A2 with stamped images of all the images in the stamp set.
  • Scrapper Floss from the Citrus collection (lime-green)

Would you like a kit like this? It cost: $5.00 Shipping (regular mail to US) included and is available at Jany's blog

Here is the first card I made using Jany's new kit and following Jill's sketch.

Isn't the lil' skunk-ette a sweetie? :D

I'll end this post with two cards I've made with one of the gorgeous stamps from Whiff of Joy's "Spring Stamp Kit 2009" . [I love myself for getting it while it was on offer :D]

Cardstock and papers from Papermania, sentiment stamps from a See D's set.

Thank you for bearing with me and my crazy life schedule. :)

Have a wonderful week ahead!

Stamping with Jany - ROUND 2 :)

I should have posted this one on Friday, but as I was just saying in my previous entry, I couldn't find a chance to use a computer until now.

The DT for Stamping with Jany worked on more cards using the kit we were sent sometime ago. The papers and the stamped images from TAC (The Angel Company) are so happy and colourful, just perfect for the Spring we are all eagerly waiting for. :)

Although Jany (Dianette) provides us with a new sketch for each week, she has generously allowed us to use any layout if we so wish. For this week's card I didn't follow the 'proper' sketch and used a different one of Jany's.

Here's the card...

I practically used scraps of paper that were left from making the other cards. The designs are so pretty that I didn't wish to throw away anything.
And I am still crazy about that lil' birdie and especially about its 'haircut'. Lol
I also love the girl's boots - they are adorable, don't you agree? :D

Please have a look at Jany's Blog to read more about her card-kit and to admire what my DT friends -- Jill, Linda and Karin -- created with it.

Just Christmas and Birthday Cards - #17

Another week with me being late in posting. :(
I am still computer-less and it's driving me crazy to have to wait for my brother to allow me a little time on his computer. He does work at home too, so it's embarassing for me to nag him about it.

But I am lucky now for a few days because he's out of town on a job assignment (he works in traffic signaling and it takes him around the country quite a lot) and I can have his computer to myself. And I am lucky again with my brother :) - by the end of this week I will have a brand new computer which he bought for me as a gift. Well, we'll be both making the monthly payments for it, but my brother will contribute with a larger sum, so it still remains a gift for me. :)
I can't wait for this "dark age" to be over and for my new PC to arrive home.

This last week has been very sad for another reason too. On Wednesday night my uncle died quite unexpectedly. He was my Mum's brother and I loved him very very much and losing him too affected me a lot. I don't know what's going on with our family... maybe we are all programmed to disappear this year? Hope not!

Anyway... on with the show! :)

As I couldn't post these earlier in the week - I apologize - here are my DT cards for Week #17 at JCBC (showing them right before another challenge gets posted tomorrow morning)

Week #17's sketch was created by our very talented girl Janina

A lovely, lovely, lovely sketch! :)

And this is what I did with it...

Christmas card

The tree-row stamp is designed by the awesomely talented Chris Dark
I stamped it twice and doubled/layered a few of the foreground trees
Everything else I used on this card is stuff that was lying around in my crafting supplies boxes. :)

Birthday card

Here's another stamp from Chris, this one is a digi-stamp and I am in love with it :)
You MUST go see Chris' new digi-stamps blog, there are some wonderful designs to be found
The DP is "Boxer" from Basic Grey, the corner stamps are from Studio G and the sentiment from Imaginisce. The rest comes from stash.

Thank you for your patience and understanding regarding my current PC-situation.
And thank you for looking too. :)
